Socialisation Walks
Give your dog the opportunity to practise skills around other dogs in a controlled setting
Our socialisation walks are perfect for those looking to practise understanding body language, improve comfort with proximity and improve neutrality
A 1:1 walk on the surface, a carefully designed real-life situation underneath
Our Socialisation Walks aim to give a shy dog the opportunity to practise tolerance, learn resilience and learn body language in a controlled, safe way. They can give an excited dog an opportunity to build calm behaviours and gain neutrality in a controlled way too!
Simply by meeting one of our experienced trainers at a select location, you are able to not just satisfy your dog’s physical needs by taking them for a walk, but you can practise skills around trustworthy dogs at the same time. The 1:1 aspect means your dog will not be overwhelmed with potential triggers and can learn to make better decisions at their pace.
We're proud to introduce
our expert pack of stooge dogs
Our personal pack help other dogs as part of their professional roles as stooge dogs, in both 1-1 behavioural training and throughout our board & train programmes.
Each dog is an individual, so each walk needs to be an individual experience
Our socialisation walks are the perfect opportunity to be matched with a dog who compliments your dog’s needs. A bouncier, more boisterous dog may need to practise calmer behaviour, whereas a more timid dog might need to be encouraged to interact.
Our neutral pack of stooge dogs each bring something different to our socialisation walks, and we like to vary locations to practise as many skills in as many areas as possible, ultimately allowing you to have more freedom with your dog!
Want to learn more?
We’ve created this FAQ section to answer some of the most commonly asked questions about our socialisation walks.
Who can attend the socialisation walks?
In order to meet one of our experienced trainers and our dogs for a socialisation walk, you must already be a current or previous client of ours.
Are you able to resolve problem behaviours during the walk?
Our socialisation walks do not include any behavioural training. The walks are merely an opportunity to practise skills around trustworthy dogs in a controlled way.
If you would like to discuss behaviours such as loose lead walking, recall or reactivity, we recommend booking 1:1 problem behaviour lessons instead.
We reserve the right to reject you for a socialisation walk if we feel your dog’s behaviour is not yet suitable.
Will your dogs be off the lead?
How many dogs we bring and whether they are on- or off-lead depends on your dog’s progress and thresholds.
Can my dog be off the lead?
If safe and appropriate, you may let your dog off the lead.
However, we don’t take responsibility for any accidents or injury caused by your dog being off the lead, and we urge you to not let your dog off the lead unless their recall is excellent.
What is the duration of each walk?
The walks will be around 45-minutes depending on the location and route.
How are the walks organised?
Once you have booked a walk, please email us to arrange date, time and location.
How much are the socialisation walks?
A block of 5 socialisation walks can be booked for £200.
