We choose to feed our dogs a varied fresh diet for multiple reasons 🥩
• no matter how good the ingredients of kibble, to me it’s still processed nuggets which I wouldn’t want to eat day after day! A fresh diet is proper food 😅
• improved dental health, coat condition & poo
• variety! Textures, tastes, brands, extras, meats – the list goes on
• meat is much more moist than kibble – it’s taxing for the organs to shift that much dry matter through the body
• no additives, artificial preservatives or synthetic chemicals
• improved overall health 🤩 with a strong likelihood of improving ailments such as a consistently bad stomach & unhealthy skin
• more species-appropriate – dogs produce more waste on kibble for a reason
If you can’t or won’t feed a fresh diet, at least ensure you:
1) choose a quality kibble (NOT Royal Canin or Hills 🤮 learn to read ingredients
2) add lots of water to your dog’s kibble
3) give your dog fresh additions such as fish, cooked veg & raw eggs – some fresh is better than none!
Where possible, put your dog’s dietary needs above your convenience.
Some people prefer cooked meals such as Butternut Box to raw meat; I would say that’s better than kibble.
Don’t worry – you do not need to balance everything to the last milligram every day; you do not need to source lesser-spotted triple-humped camel skin from Outer Mongolia to have a healthy dog.
Finally, if you use scaremongering to deter people from feeding fresh: 🖕🏻
