Introducing Panzer The German Shepherd

Panzer is a German Shepherd with attitude 😂 she’s definitely capable of a higher level of thinking than the other dogs, and isn’t afraid to show us exactly what she wants (food).

Panzer achieved her BH qualification under the sport IGP with Adam – she has some brilliant fancy obedience.

Overall though, Panzer is the easiest of the gang to stimulate. She is half show line, so is lower in drive and energy.

Panzer has been brilliantly socialised – she’s not interested unless you have food, but she’s very tolerant, and environmentally stable 👌🏻

Panzer is great if your dog needs to learn other dogs are boring, and she’ll give fair corrections to those who overstep the mark too.

Panzer has a medical condition called Endocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency – her pancreas doesn’t produce enzymes and so she needs a capsule of enzymes per meal. The road to diagnosis was hugely stressful, with Panzer losing kilograms of weight and having awful poo.

Thankfully the condition is under control now, and she’s even gained weight! However, there are bad days with EPI and we are currently doing some damage control following a bad week. She eats raw meat like the others, but she will always require those enzymes and B12 capsules. We have cooked meals in the freezer in case her pancreas needs a break.

When Panzer isn’t thinking about food, she’s eating or wondering when her next meal is!
