Learn about our balanced Problem Behaviour modification service

Are you struggling with undesirable behaviours such as pulling on the leash, reactivity or jumping? Or is your dog’s fear of the world preventing you from enjoying life?

Holistic, balanced dog trainers aiming to unpick & resolve your dog's problem behaviours

This programme is designed for those who are out of their depth with their dog’s behavioural problems and need expert help. We are exceptionally experienced in reading dogs & their body language, and we choose methods depending on the individual dog we see in front of us.

During your behaviour modification programme, you will learn how to handle your dog as well as understand why they are behaving in such a way. We see all sorts of behaviours on a daily basis, from lack of recall to lack of loose lead walking.

As well as the basic problem behaviours, we also welcome dogs with behavioural problems such as reactivity or resource guarding. Our end goal for all dogs is to help them enjoy walks, but don’t be afraid to contact us for help completing the necessary steps beforehand.

Providing a bespoke opportunity to resolve behavioural problems and have a new start

Here are just some of the different behavioural problems that we accommodate in our Problem Behaviour packages

Reactivity

Reducing feelings of anxiety and frustration on the leash, meaning your dog can walk past other dogs with no drama.

Recall

Conditioning a bombproof response to a cue so that your dog can enjoy all the benefits of off-leash freedom.

Loose lead walking

Teaching your dog how to walk to heel, which in turn creates a calmer dog and more peaceful walks.

Housetraining

Eliminating 'rude' behaviours in the house such as chewing, stealing, jumping and whinging for a peaceful home life.

Resource guarding

Building trust and eliminating conflict around perceived valuable objects, reducing anxiety for you and your dog.

Wellbeing & genetics

Looking holistically at the individual dog to determine how we can meet their needs based on their biological traits.

Each dog requires a unique approach to behaviour modification & resolution

At Canisocial, we have a range of basics we believe all dogs should know.

However, what can appear to be the same problem behaviour in two dogs can in fact be occurring for totally separate reasons, which is why we treat each dog as an individual and learn about their traits & genetics before deciding on the correct method to train them. Additionally, we are passionate about client confidence & progress, so dog owners who train with us learn how to handle their dog effectively and develop their own skills in the process.

No two dogs are the same, and we believe every dog deserves 100% of our attention when on a behavioural modification journey, hence why the majority of our Problem Behaviour services are on a 1:1 basis.

We’ve created this FAQ section to answer some of the most commonly asked questions about our Problem Behaviour service.

The Problem Behaviour service is aimed at any dog who displays undesirable behaviour which affects their life or their owner’s quality of life in any way. You can choose between 5 and 10 lessons, each one lasting about 45 minutes. We can discuss multiple behaviours within one package.

We are happy to accept dogs with any problem behaviour, even extreme behaviours such as aggression.

Where appropriate, we will mix your dog with our dogs, but please be aware a certain standard of training will need to be met before this happens. Also, there is usually a period of time where your dog is still on the leash before being given more freedom for reasons concerning safety & harmony.

As you may have seen on the website, we are happy to accommodate any problem behaviours. Our most common are reactivity, lack of recall, lack of loose lead walking, confidence building, conflict-based behaviours such as resource guarding, and socialisation (our speciality).

All new clients must attend a consultation which is £50. After that, you can choose from 5 lessons (£550) or 10 lessons (£900).

As per the Terms & Conditions, your package must be finished within six months. Failure to follow these conditions will result in your package expiring with no refund.

Upon successful completion of your training, you are welcome to attend socialisation walks to maintain your new skills.
